What a nice weekend! I saw a very chic art opening by these artsy people and a concert by the very talented LifeSavas. Both of these are wonderful Portland based groups. P-town represent!

In other news, I am edging into my finals for school, and stress levels are rising within and without me. I have completed about two and half new songs that I really want to get out to my eager fanbase (that is you), but I am very busy being studious. Maybe I will find time today, or tomorrow. One way or the other, something new is on its way so keep your head up!

Woops. I was planning on putting up some AIDS information as part of the Link and Think Project for World AIDS Day (which was December 1st), but I was too busy to get to a computer. Still, I think “better late than never” definitely applies. Of course, by now, many people already realize that AIDS hurts many people every day, all over the world. But how often do we allow ourselves to sit down on reflect on how this disease affects actual people? I think this is the right place to start in order to come to a full understanding of the problem. The AIDS Quilt is a good place to begin this process. We have part of this quilt in my school library and it moves me everytime I see it. Once you’ve absorbed the Quilt, or at least a little bit of it, check out this resource and teach yourself the basic facts about HIV and AIDS. Finally, pull out to the big picture by looking at these issues on a global scale. The United Nations AIDS website is a wonderful resource for this.

This past week, I came in contact with an organization that truly ties the local and the global view together. They are called Africa AIDS Response, and they are located in Portland, Oregon (where I live… this month). Last Thursday, they held a benefit concert to raise funds for the building of an AIDS/HIV clinic in Mutare, Zimbabwe, Portland’s sister city. I volunteered, helping them to set up decorations for the event. They were truly inspiring, beautiful people. I hope we can all try to manifest their strength and compassion by each helping in our own ways to address the global AIDS epidemic. If you have any thoughts or stories please email me. I’d be happy to share (or not share) you words here.

Woohoo! I just finished doing this presentation that I was really nervous about. It was about violence and how it is tied to masculine roles. It went really well. I’ll be putting it up here for you all to peruse soon now. Kick me if I forget.

I just wrote this big long thing about Thanksgiving and World AIDS Day (which is on December 1st), but it got eaten by Blogger. Oh well. I’m sure you can imagine all the witty things I said. Check out this link, and participate if you can. I will be.

My eyes hurt from staring at this screen too long. I need to go home and get some stuff done, then I can relax with my girl and watch “A Fish Called Wanda”. It’s a life, and happily it is mine.

Thanks to my Buddy Luke aka Mr. Eel, this website is now one hundred percent automated. That means that I don’t have to FTP in order to update it, so you should see it updated more! Thanks a lot to Blogger, for the free magical automation service.

Ahhhhhhhhh. There we go. Yes, I have totally redone my site. I wanted to make it feel more personal and human. So you will see more artifacts of me on here like handwriting, photos, and doodles. Everything you see on here is me and vice versa. Hope you enjoy… me!

In addition to all the other updates, I have uploaded a song, called “Beaming“, that I finished this summer. It’s my attempt at a house track and it came out real nice. Kind of a tribal vibe going on. My friends call this one things like “happy driving song” and “teletubbies song”. When my mom first heard it she said it sounded like tropical island music. So I guess you know what you are getting into! Have fun, and shake that ass (but don’t sprain a cheek)!
