In other PDX DIY news, Nate Preston of the infamous and ambiguously spelled Die Monitr Batss pointed me (and a couple hundred other people) towards this awesome webpage which allows you and me to receive FREE IPODS. I never do this kind of thing, but my lust for the iPod has been growing steadily, even as my income has steadily shrunk. Please take pity on me and click here, sign up for

UPDATE1: I only need THREE more friends to do this and I’m golden! YES!! Will you be my next special someone?

UPDATE2: The Blockbuster offer is not a simple as it seems. Turns out you’re required to let them bill you for the first week’s service after the trail period to get credit for completing the offer. So fuck that. The above mentioned Mr. Preston recommends the vitamin offer, as it’s cheap and gives you credit instantly. Sounds like a winner to me. Does that make me a loser?

UPDATE3: Holy… YES! One more person took the plunge, which means I need only TWO more people, and I have a free iPod. I’m pooping myself people. Let’s do this!

OK, I didn’t think this was possible, but there actually is a way to get credit towards your iPod without spending a cent. The trick is to go for the new eFax offer (this wasn’t available when I started on this quest). All you have to do is sign up for the free trail, and you’ll recieve credit the next day. Then cancel. They make that part a little tricky, requiring you to talk to a customer service rep and stuff, but no biggy. Just say “no thanks” when they try to pressure you into staying put, and they’ll set you free (like house music). Awesome!
